Connect Le Confidant to Claude or ChatGPT
Le Confidant has an MCP server, a standard way for AI assistants to use outside tools. After you upload a WhatsApp chat and its free analysis is ready, you can let Claude or ChatGPT read its statistics and explain them in your own chat. It works with Claude and ChatGPT; other assistants can't connect yet.
Server address
https://leconfidant.ai/api/mcpBefore you start
- Upload your WhatsApp chat export on leconfidant.ai and wait for the free analysis to finish.
- Stay in that browser. Approving access has to happen in the browser you uploaded from.
- Connect within the first hour. The connector works with the free analysis while its one-hour window is open.
Connect in Claude
- In Claude (web or desktop app), open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Le Confidant and paste this server address. Leave the advanced settings empty.
https://leconfidant.ai/api/mcp - In a chat, ask: “Read the statistics from my connected Le Confidant analysis.”
- Claude asks you to connect. Continue, then approve access as described below.
Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan, and menu names can change. Claude's help center has the current steps.
Connect in ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT settings, open Apps & Connectors, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
- Create a connector named Le Confidant with this server address and OAuth as the authentication. Leave the client ID and secret empty.
https://leconfidant.ai/api/mcp - In a new chat, turn on Le Confidant from the tools menu and ask: “Read the statistics from my connected Le Confidant analysis.”
- ChatGPT asks you to connect. Continue, then approve access as described below.
Developer mode depends on your ChatGPT plan, and OpenAI presents it as a feature for developers. Menu names can change; OpenAI's help pages have the current steps.
Approve access
- A Le Confidant page opens in your browser and shows which assistant is asking, for example “Requested by Claude”.
- Select your free session, tick the consent box and choose Allow access.
- Go back to your chat. If the assistant doesn't continue on its own, ask your question again.
What the assistant can read
- Total messages and each person's share, shown as a balance bar
- Conversation starts and reply pairs for each person
- Reply times in minutes: median, middle range (25th to 75th percentile) and mean
- Average message length in characters
- Definitions, so the assistant can explain what each number means and its limits
- A results card in the chat, where the app supports it, with a Refresh results button and the time access ends
- Participants appear as A and B. The labels don't say which person is you.
What it can't do
- Read message text, excerpts or names, whether real names or the aliases you chose
- Show paid insights, such as the semantic analysis, or use the Le Confidant assistant
- Compare periods, for example one month against another
- Upload a chat or start a new analysis. That always happens on leconfidant.ai.
- Connect a session upgraded to Pro or Advanced. The connector works with free analyses only.
Privacy and access
- The assistant receives only the numbers listed above, never your messages.
- Access ends one hour after the upload, together with the free session. It can't be extended; upload the chat again for a new hour.
- Disconnect at any time by asking the assistant to disconnect Le Confidant, or revoke every connection for a session on the connections page.
- Disconnecting stops future reads. It doesn't delete what the assistant already received; that follows the assistant's own data rules.
Troubleshooting
- “No eligible sessions in this browser”: open the approval link in the browser you uploaded from, or upload the chat again in this browser.
- “Access to this analysis has ended”: the free hour is over. Upload the chat again and reconnect.
- No results card: some apps show results as text only. The numbers are the same.
